A Sweet Visit from a dear old friend

A Sweet Visit from a dear old friend during which we have a bonfire, go get bagels, plant bulbs in the yard and generally have a good old time.

My Commute, in pictures

especially for those of you who are Upstate curious. (you know who you are)

copy / paste

I just made the same mistake more than once.  Why? copy/paste. Funny, i am really used to copy/paste.  I sometimes catch myself thinking for just a second that i could copy/paste something physical or an experience or a conversation (or search my history for a certain conversation hahah) before i remember that you can’t do that.  But seeing how it just enabled me to make the same mistake more than once – the same exact mistake - i feel like there is some larger philosophical life lesson here about shortcuts.  it’s really taken me aback.

New Home

Beacon, NY

Beacon, NY

moving upcountry

Moving upcountry.  Moving about 70 minutes north actually, to Beacon NY.

On September 15th.

Think it will be better for the little one and a couple of the big ones.  Sae will not be attending school next year and the thought of being cooped up for another NY winter in a NYC apartment with a squirmy toddler is daunting to say the least.

For us, though, the really big news is that my parents are going to rent an apartment in Beacon too! So J and I will finally experience the luxury and comfort of living close to family… We are really excited about this!

I (Tommy) will be commuting down to the city 4 days a week for work.  I truly hope that our NYC friends take us up and come visit the great big upcounty.  It’s a really easy train ride.  And, hopefully J and I will actually get to spend more time in NYC doing adult things, seeing friends etc. … sans bitty.  (<— note to self:  remember to erase that last before sadie can read.)

it’s been too long since we’ve posted

That must be a good thing right???

It totally is.  We are still rockin’ the oral chemo and Sae won’t be attending school for the next year or so, but my intention is to turn the beat around on this blog – So tune in for posts that celebrate our life together. less cancer related news, more fun stuff.

Kicking it off – pics from our visit this weekend to Atlantic City (weird choice you say? Not at all, Our friends were CONTEST WINNERS and kind enough to invite us along to help spend their booty. Pirate booty that is.)
